ELF - THE MUSICAL

ELF - THE MUSICAL

A HAOS Productions Musical

Let's all embrace our inner elf this Christmas

Based on everybody's favourite 2003 Christmas film, Elf the Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy the Elf, immortalised by Will Ferrell, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole.

Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone forget the lockdown ever existed and celebrate Christmas by embracing their inner Elf.

An amateur production presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe) All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI Europe www.MTIShows.co.uk

Casting Process Open!

HAOS are now accepting expressions of interest from anyone who is wanting to perform as a member of the cast of ELF - THE MUSICAL at the Halifax Playhouse in December 2021.

Anyone aged 16+ by opening night can register interest to be part of this fantastic show. You don’t need to have had any previous experience or training; we are looking for people who are committed, enthusiastic and willing.

Unfortunately we are only able to cast 35 performers in this show due to backstage requirements of the theatre. For this reason there may be the need to employ some form of workshop to select Ensemble members, but at this stage this is not yet planned.

All expressions of interest need to be submitted before midnight on Friday 16th July in order to have the opportunity to audition. The form will close at this time so no late submissions will be able to be made.

Auditions will take place on Sunday 18th July

If you would like to find out more about what this involves and how to register for an audition please click here.  (link is now deactivated)

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for both a Musical Director and a Choreographer for this production who can work alongside our brilliant Director, Sam Milnes, to help bring the magic of Christmas to Halifax!

If you feel you could approach this project with an open mind, an enthusiastic attitude and plenty of Christmas cheer we would love to hear from you.

Auditions for the show are likely to be in late June or July with rehearsals starting some time after in order to cater for possible affected attendance over the summer holiday period. Although some flexibility may be employed, rehearsals will be held primarily on Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays.  A small fee is available for each of the above roles to assist with travel expenses.

Please submit your Expressions of Interest to HAOS Production Secretary – Karen Illingsworth at karen@haosproductions.com by midnight 4th April 2021. If you would like to discuss any aspect of this production please get in touch.

This show is licensed to be performed by adults (16+) with the inclusion of a small number of junior performers, details of which are to follow.
