COMPANY
A HAOS Productions Musical
"Phone rings, door chimes, in comes COMPANY"
On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor, Robert, contemplates his unmarried state. He seems to have everything: good looks, charm and a great sense of humour, and yet he is single. Over the course of a series of dinners, drinks and even a wedding, his friends – "those good and crazy people [his] married friends" – explain the pros and cons of taking on a spouse, reflecting on the joys and pitfalls of relationships. Through the eyes of Robert we see in the lives of his friends the less than ideal aspects of marriage...and yet there must be some reason why they stay together! The habitually single Robert is forced to question his adamant retention of bachelorhood during a hilarious array of interactions.
After their huge success with ASSASSINS in November 2021, Richard Armstrong and Tony Dylak re-unite to helm this new production, promising a piece that it is sophisticated, deeply insightful, and downright hilarious. COMPANY features Stephen Sondheim’s award-winning songs You Could Drive a Person Crazy, The Ladies Who Lunch, Side by Side by Side and the iconic Being Alive.
HAOS Productions is enormously proud to present this never performed locally, yet highly acclaimed, musical from the pen of a legend of Broadway Musical Theatre in honour of his recent passing. A huge success when first performed in 1970, this show will make you laugh all evening and stay up thinking about it all night afterwards.
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe)
All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI Europe
