ASSASSINS
A HAOS Productions Musical
"All you have to do is move your little finger, and you can change the world"
What happens when the opportunity to peruse dreams becomes an entitlement to have those dreams fulfilled ? And when your voice can't be heard and your dreams don't materialise, what do you do ? You do the only thing you can do; You kill the President
Written by Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim (Sweeney Todd; Into The Woods; Company), this seductive dark comedy explores the power of the celebrity, the American dream and the President.
Set in fairground limbo, a sinister proprietor introduces a group of nine disenfranchised misfits to a macabre shooting gallery, where their problems can be solved and their dreams realised by simply shooting the President - "HIT THE PREZ, WIN A PRIZE"
Over the next 100 minutes we are introduced to each of them, and witness the motives and madness that led them to trying, sometimes successfully, to assassinate their President - culminating in a spine-tingling climax of an event that defined a generation; the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Think they're monsters ? Think you've nothing in common with them ? Think again !!
November 2020 not only marks the 57th anniversary of JFK's death but an eagerly anticipated Presidential election. HAOS Productions is therefore proud to present this rarely-performed yet highly acclaimed musical, from the pen of a living legend in his ninetieth year.
*Please note this production was rescheduled from November 2020 to March 2021 and then again to November 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.
